Jay began his career as an actor for his local Repertory Theatre before moving on to professional theatre at the age of 14. Jay has performed around the country in a number of touring and resident productions, including the All England One Act Play Festival where his production won a First Class award.
Making the jump from on-stage to backstage, Jay studied Film Production Technology at Staffordshire University, before moving across the country to begin a full-time position at Pontins, where he was responsible for design and operation of sound and lighting across three venues, as well as producing content for the in-house television station ‘Pontins TV’. Over the years, Jay took on a number of roles including Assistant Entertainment Manager and Duty Complex Manager, before leaving to set up Valcato Entertainment in 2013.
During his time at Valcato, Jay has worked as a designer, technician, producer and director for a range of in-house productions, and has also completed work for several external clients such as Bourne Leisure, Parkdean Resorts, Pontins, Dancelines Promotions, ADI TV and World Wrestling Entertainment to name but a few.
Jay handles all of the technical production of our shows, mixing tracks and creating show visuals, posters and merchandise, as well as maintaining our in-house technical equipment stock and our asset management system.
